What did everyone think about Dr Eibeck's response on Athletics?

I listened to Dr. Eibeck's entire presentation. Her ideas intrigued me. I found her comments on UOP athletics to be rather general and bland, but
accurate. Athletics ARE a way to attract people to the university, and they DO teach good values. I don't know if the general nature of those remarks
were intentional, or if she's being improperly influenced by King, but I was VERY disappointed to find nothing in her remarks about football.

there was no "there, there." Here comments were true but unremarkable. I guess the thing that bugged me a little bit about her remarks as they
pertained to athletics is that there didn't seem to be any emotion behind them. It was like they were talking points. As the leader of the university
I'd like her to show some enthusiasm. Perhaps it has more to do with the setting than the person, but I found the lack of any emotion or inflection in her
voice a little disappointing.

Jon, I have to agree with you. She sounded like she was trying to say all the PC things about athletics and stay on the AD's good side. Then again, what
else would you expect? I have one word for her bit on athletics: Vague. Here's four more words: Show me the commitment!

To look at it a different way is it appears she is a blank slate in regards to athletics. My impressions of Lynn King is that he has a good strong personality and maybe he'll be able to gain sway with President Eibeck to give him the resources he needs to take the athletic program to the next level and stay out of his way. |

That 3D Jr clone? No way. I hope she cans King ASAP and brings Cindy back home from the Manure Pile.
