Yeah, what a terrible event. It also doesn't help the rift between the campus and the community and their perceptions of each other.

I wonder about that acutally. Kid is a local product transferred from a local school in Stockton and was (what appears to be) an innocent victim at a
"local" party.
If anything I hope this does something to bring the two closer together. The school is doing the right thing and will be holding (free) memorial sevices, greef counseling etc. for student, family members and the community on campus. |

How many times have we heard this story before? Party happens, crashers try to join the party. When asked to leave, things get violent, or they come back and
start shooting up the place. It's tragic that this still happens. Why can't people keep their cool? Why would I want to go to a party where I
wasn't wanted? It's a shame.
