Antoine Lundy |
Lead | |
|
Antoine Lundy a 6'8" PF from Neosho County JC KS, by way of Saginaw MI has reportedly been offered a scholarship according to the Rivals network. I
had heard a rumor of a kid from Michigan at a midwest JC was visiting the campus recently, it turns out Antoine was the one.

mystery recruit? | ||
|
Is Antoine Lundy the recruit that was on campus on the 23rd of October, and the subject of a previous thread? According to Rivals, he took a visit to Pacific
on that same day. The team picture on the Neosho CC website indicates that Lundy has a good build, with a weight of 220 to 230lbs as listed. A good-sized
power forward. We will see if he commits.

Thanks for tracking down this information. It's good to see the Tigers are working hard to shore up the future forward line.

Interesting Statistics | ||
|
Antione Lundy appears to be another late bloomer who caught the Tigers' attention. His high school team, Arthur Hill in Saginaw, won the Michigan Class A
title in his junior year as he played a complementary role. There is no record of him achieving any major honors as a senior. Last year as a freshman at Neosho
County (16-15) in the Kansas Jayhawk Eastern Division, he averaged 11.2 ppg and 11.1 rpg. He shot .504 from the field, .320 from three-point land and .836 from
the line (yeah!). His statistics look even better because he played in only 17 games, missing the first 14 of the season because of ? That means he missed
outings against four small college JV squads and played against the conference iron of the schedule down the stretch. He exploded on the scene with 25 points
and 12 rebounds in his first JC game, then took a support role to high-scoring sophomore Mark Gomilla. One thing I like about Lundy's statistics is that he
fouled out of six games and had four fouls in four games. Your first instinct might be to say he's foul-prone and that might be correct. But that also
means he plays defense and puts forward a consistent effort on that side of the ball. In a game where his team trails, he's not afraid to foul in the late
going, stop the clock and force the opponent to beat his team at the line. That's a sign of a team player. According to the Rivals scouting network, the
only other school that has offered him so far is Morehead State.

Jordan Railey, Pacific's other big man prospect is reportedly going to announce his commitment some time this week, stay tuned.

If the Tigers get this Lundy kid, we can safely declare the Kansas JC pipeline open. Lundy sounds like another potential Tiger diamond in the rough ... the
next Yango (or perhaps the next Nyika Williams, who I hope is the next Yango first). Morehead State is in basketball crazy Kentucky, but I think there is no
comparison about which program has more success in its recent past. Seems like it should be an easy decision if Lundy's only D-I offers are Pacific and
Morehead State.

This is good news. Sounds like the Staff is on the move to get us some quality players. Also sounds like we are currently "over-recruiting" which
makes me wonder if somone currently on the roster won't be. Seems to be a big man...

Does anyone know if Jordan Railey has narrowed his list of schools he favors that are in the lead for his services? All the recruiting sites have been stuck
on the same information regarding schools of interest for some time. I cannot tell whether he has eliminated anybody.

Off To A Good Start | ||
|
Pacific Tigers' recruiting target Antione Lundy (and it's starting to look like the "i" comes before the "o") is off to big start
in his sophomore season at Neosho County Community College. He had 19 points (8-17, 1-4, 2-5) and 14 rebounds in a 96-55 romp over an Ottawa College JV team,
then an identical 19 points (7-11, 2-3, 3-5) and 14 rebounds in a 75-71 win over a legitimate Cloud County JC team.
