The Tigers take on the Pilots tonight in Portland.  The Tigers haven't played well at Portland since rejoining the WCC so my expectations aren't vey high, however on paper this is a winnable game.  We've all been hoping to see the team finish strong and show some improvement we'll see if the team can get it done tonight.
It's a great day to be a Tiger!!!

According to the oddsmaker's in Vegas,  TJ Wallace is not playing tonight!  Maybe DJ steps up tonight, and I'll place the VUKO shot meter at  over or under 4!

I've been watching some of the second half. Townes is playing BIGA few glitches near the end trying to close the game but a much much better job of staying calm. Just got to keep control of the ball better and put it away on both ends. Smith made a nice headfake move for a layup. Vuko had a nice game and the guards controlled the game pretty well. I'm glad Terry Porter won't have bragging rights now Image

Victory!
The Tigers played a nice all around team game and won the battle for last place against the Pilots.  TJ didn't make the trip due to a foot injury, but Anthony Townes continued his impressive sophomore season with 18 pts and 16 rebs.

Java all-around.  I watched the first 10 minutes or so... then was able to see most of second half.  Team looked better on offensive end.  Smith, DJ and Maleke looked better, and Vuko ALMOST doubled the target shot meter!   He was very close to 3 games worth of shots!  5-7 and one flush!  Towne's always seems to make the plays.  KJ's drive was nice, and I liked the confident 15 footer DJ calmly sank off a time out!  Bring on the Zags..... Ray is still having shooting woes,  3-13 ... but the parts of the game i saw he played o.k.

Glad to see the guy get a 10th D1 win and take two of last three....... I think they could win at least one of their next 3, and maybe even two....4 more wins in a rebuilding year than after a terrible year last year...........

watching some of the first half action. Vuko with a 3 near the start! Where has that been!!!! Ilias got one as well. I know the recruiting has been focused mainly on wings it seems but seeing Townes do well again, Lampkin getting it done before his injury, I just think another interior player 4/5 would be really valuable for next season. Yes, even more so than a wing. It would be my number one need actually. Get both if possible of course.

both teams missing their best players so a good team win.

The Maleke steal and then Ilias 3 was a very nice play Image
Sami got some run in the first half, looked active out there. A couple of strong team D possessions. Probably will see more of him
